Who will benefit
- All individuals that are required to test portable appliances. Ideally have a reasonable understanding of basic electrical principles would be an advantage. A pre-one day course is recommended for those individuals who do not have a fundamental understanding of elementary electrical principles.

- To establish a sound understanding of portable appliance testing
- To establish sound understanding of the types of testing required
- To familiarise the individual with the types and classifications of portable equipment
- To generate safe working & testing practices and procedures
- To provide a firm theoretical foundation to achieve a nationally recognized qualification

Day 1 Theoretical concepts of testing and the use of testing equipment
Day 2 Practical testing applications
The Course will relate directly to the IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 4th Edition

This programme is designed to develop and to certificate competence in the procedures and practices for testing portable electrical appliances as required by the Regulations.

Note: Electricians who have achieved 17th Edition (2008) may require an up-date on Amendment 3
